Day 16 Puerta Varas to Puerta Natales

We had time for a final walk before leaving Puerto Varas and our 2 hour flight south to Southern Patagonia.  We walked into the town and along north shore of the lakeside.  There was some sort of childrens running race happening and lots of entertainment.  It was very warm and sunny and we saw Chilean Swallows, a Turkey Vulture and many other birds.

known as Chile's City of Roses

It was a very clear day and we were able to see all 3 volcanos from the hotel just before we left for the airport.

After the flight we were taken to our hotel in Puerta Natales in Southern Patagonia.  It is called the Remota Hotel and very aptly named as it is about 2 miles from the town which is one of the windiest places on earth.  We went for a walk towards the town with the wind behind us but turned back after about half a mile and it was then a really hard walk into the wind and uphill as well.  We did see some lovely swans on the water and a few ducks arrived.
